Background
The Giacomo Ascheri Cellars originated in La Morra, Langhe: in 1880, the first vines were planted in that area, where a place called “Ascheri” still exists, and the first wines were produced. Since the beginning, the family have been focused on ensuring the right grapes are grown in the best soil to deliver their best fruit. Today, that approach continues with increased emphasis on sustainability and achieving the highest potential from each of their vineyard locations. Once the grapes are harvested, the winemaking team adopt a minimal intervention programme in the cellar. There is limited use of wood, and every effort is made to produce wines that clearly express the vineyard, the grape variety, and the winemakers’ vision.
