Background
The Château de Viaud Lalande is situated in the village Lalande de Pomerol. The origin of the estate goes back to the 17th century. The present Château was built at the end of the 18th century.
This micro estate (1,8 hectares) owned by the Durand Teyssier family. Philippe and his son Thomas are now leading the property. The expertise of Thomas in New Zealand, California, or in Château Bélair in Saint Emilion, contributes to the elaboration of the nectar Château Viaud Lalande
Tasting notes
Intense aromas of leather, smoke, tobacco. Rich dark fruit, dried red fruit notes, very well balanced, good acidity, soft tannins.
Winemaking
After manual harvesting and sorting, the wort is macerated and fermented at a controlled temperature with daily pumping of the wort for better aroma extraction. Merlot is vinified in vats for three weeks, Cabernet Franc for two. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new.
