Background
At the southernmost tip of Burgundy, the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation covers 800 ha, 194 of which will be classified as Premiers Crus from the 2020 vintage. The villages of Chaintré, Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson make up its exclusive production area, in an exceptional natural setting. The 3 hectares of Domaine Georges Burrier are mainly spread over 3 climats in Fuissé. The Domaine's cuvée comes mainly from the 'Vers Chânes' terroir on the heights of Fuissé towards Chaintré, where the cooler, older soils produce fruity, fragrant wines.
Tasting notes
In its youth, this wine evokes white fruits (pear, peach) and white flowers (acacia). The wine is fresh and mineral, balanced on the palate with a touch of honey and citrus on the finish.
Winemaking
9 months aging on fine lees, partly in barrels, the rest in stainless steel vats.
Food pairings
Works beautifully with fresh seafood, roasted poultry and soft cheeses.
